SV1

Following the success of the R Series, the S Series was released in March of 1962. Although there were minor changes under the skin, the most notable differences were cosmetic. The most obvious of these was the replacement of the iconic simulated spare wheel pressing on the boot lid with a large Valiant motif. Although R Series owners were presumably unimpressed about no longer owning the current model after no more than two months, their revenge came in the form of the hordes of people who ask S Series owners if theirs is "the one with the spare tyre thingy on the boot?" 10009 S Series were produced and it is estimated that roughly 1/3 of these are still in existence today.
