VHThe VH range was the first fully Australian designed Valiant and was very well-received. The 245ci Hemi was joined by a 215ci in the base model Ranger and 265ci version which produced 218bhp when it was in the new 4 door Pacer. In fact, the VH Pacer held the record for the fastest mass-produced Australian 6 cylinder 4 door sedan for 17 years. The new Charger range included the iconic Six Pack models which included triple side-draught Weber 2 barrel carburettors resulting in up to 302bhp with the E49 option. The E55 option included a 275bhp 340ci V8 which could push the Charger 770 SE to 196km/h. Also released at the same time was the remarkably unimaginatively-named luxury Chrysler by Chrysler or CH series. The CH was available as a 2 or 4 door and was 4 inches longer than the standard sedan. 67800 VHs were built before production ended in early 1973.
